When selecting fabrics, buyers need to know what a sustainability mark applies to and how to verify it. Ganlion has updated its bluesign System Partner identity and adopted the new bluepass Article mark for qualifying fabrics, making both its participation in the bluesign System and its marked materials easier to identify.
A bluesign System Partner is a company participating in the bluesign System. Its production processes and management practices are assessed against bluesign Criteria as part of an ongoing relationship.
bluepass Article identifies a qualifying intermediate article, such as a fabric, accessory or trim. It is the updated mark associated with articles previously designated bluesign® APPROVED. The separate bluepass Consumer Product mark is used for finished goods.

For a fabric buyer, the distinction is practical: Ganlion’s System Partner identity describes the company’s participation in the system, while a bluepass Article mark applies to a specific eligible fabric. Neither should be read as a claim that every fabric in Ganlion’s range carries the mark. How bluesign defines bluepass and System Partners
Sustainability claims are facing closer scrutiny in Europe. The EU directive on empowering consumers for the green transition addresses misleading environmental claims and labels. Buyers and brands therefore need clearer information to support the statements they make about materials.

Bluesign’s move to bluepass introduces clearer mark names and a standardized label format. A bluepass label includes a QR code leading to a bluesign-controlled verification page, where buyers can review information behind the claim. According to bluesign, its underlying Criteria and assessment process remain in place. Read bluesign’s bluepass overview
Ganlion’s updated identification helps sourcing teams ask the right questions at the right level. They can confirm Ganlion’s System Partner status, identify which proposed fabric carries bluepass Article, and review the information linked to that particular article.

For customers developing workwear and other fabric products, this makes supplier evaluation more specific. A clearly identified fabric and an accessible verification route are more useful than a broad sustainability statement with no defined product scope.
Ganlion will continue to provide specifications and relevant documentation for the fabrics customers select. To discuss qualifying bluepass Article fabrics for your next project, contact us:
